IFIC Canada Virtual Community Session | Uncovering the Power of Integrated Care

Co-hosted by Walter Wodchis and Jodeme Goldhar, this session brought together hundreds of participants from Canada and internationally to explore how community drives health and well-being. Speakers shared real examples: Alberta's grassroots lived-experience networks, social prescribing and the "household production of health," a rural Alberta community's dementia-friendly initiatives, a case study of moving someone from institutional care into community living, and Nova Scotia's mobile food market and civic well-being survey. The session closed with reflections on what it would take to fully embed community voice and leadership in health system transformation.
