4C Impact has evolved into the Centre for Systems Collaboration
We are so proud to share that we have evolved into the Centre for Systems Collaboration.

Why the Evolution
The systems we work in are asking something new of us.
Health and social systems are under strain. That is not because people don’t care or aren’t trying hard enough. It is because the ways we organize, lead and collaborate have not kept pace with the complexity we now face. What’s needed is a shift in how we work together within organizations, across organizations, sectors, industries and communities.
Real and lasting improvement in population health and wellbeing depends on systems collaboration: working in deeply relational ways, developing new capabilities and embracing a new way of working. That is why we see radical collaboration as our new operating model.
This is where our work lives. We work with leaders, boards, teams, communities and cross-sector partners to move from fragmentation toward connection, coherence and collective impact. The aim is to strengthen high-performing ways of working within organizations and across systems, especially in integrated care and population health.
Since 2023, 4C Impact has served as the container for this work, convening, coaching and building capability for collective impact. It draws on nearly 30 years of learning, evidence and practice, and that experience has reaffirmed for us that working this way is no longer optional.
As demand for this work has grown, so has the need for a fit-for-purpose approach. The Centre for Systems Collaboration is dedicated to improving population health and wellbeing outcomes by building individual and collective leadership capability that is regenerative, so that collective impact can take hold and be sustained at any scale.
An Invitation
Meeting today’s complexity calls for a national resource that co-creates the enabling conditions for transformation that lasts. The Centre for Systems Collaboration (CSC) is our first step toward building it. It is ambitious, and we believe it is what this moment is asking of us.
We work at every scale: with individuals, within organizations, and across organizations, sectors and industries. Together with our partners, we challenge the status quo, unlearn the behaviours that keep silos in place, and build the individual and collective leadership capability, and the collaborative leadership models, that large-scale change depends on.
At the heart of this is building leadership capability while applying it in real time to what’s alive in the system. That includes shaping shared vision and orchestrated action, designing new solutions together, and helping organizations, sectors and communities move in concert while still meeting their distinct needs. Over time, these ways of working are patterned and hardwired into how leadership and culture evolve. This is not about one-off moments or isolated initiatives. It is sustained practice that changes how people lead, decide and act together.
The Story Behind the Name
We are drawn to work that advances integrated care and population health outcomes, centres lived and living experience and community voice, and builds the connective tissue needed for durable, system-wide change.
We chose the name with intention, and each word carries meaning:
Centre — a durable web of relationships across individuals, organizations and sectors, and the place where they come together. The Centre is standing infrastructure: it persists between initiatives, holds continuity across them, and carries the knowledge we need to learn, unlearn, grow and have impact together.
Systems — our commitment to working at every level of the system, from individuals to organizations to whole sectors and industries, because lasting transformation needs change at every scale to take root.
Collaboration — radical collaboration as our operating model, supported by the individual and collective leadership capability and collaborative leadership models it requires.
The Centre works across multiple platforms and partnerships, so that knowledge, relationships, learning and practice can move between them. We bring our thinking and experience into these wider networks, and we are continually shaped by what is emerging and being learned there. That is how we strengthen our shared ability to connect people, ideas and practice across boundaries and contribute to large-scale change. It is what we mean by connected leadership across systems.
Connection is the correction.
The change we all want to see will not come from any one of us working harder in isolation. It will come from choosing, again and again, to work together differently.
Thank you for joining us in this evolution. We look forward to continuing to weave the connective tissue for collective impact, together.
